John and I have set up camp at the San Antonio KOA, which is about 10 minutes from downtown. We are going to be here a little over a week. The KOA luckily sits right beside a 8 mile greenway which is perfect for dog walks and morning runs. There are a lot of trees for nice shade, a pool, horseshoe pit (I have challenged John to a game-- to happen soon!), a playground, and a Chuckwagon that serves breakfast! When we had breakfast there our first morning I told John it was like we were on the Oregon Trail!
The dogs have been exhausted from the heat and hour long dog walks luckily! However, that still did not deter Lilly from bounding over Phoebe out the trailer door for a quick walk-about. John luckily was able to corner her quickly. The very first moment we pulled in to the KOA --Fiona took off for a quick jaunt. Again, we are lucky to have such sweet understanding neighbors.
We have learned that Ralph's gas is potent enough to set off the gas alarm in our camper. He likes to curl up under our bed on his blanket. He looks like a troll and all you can see is his little beady eyes. Anyway, the gas alarm has gone off at least 10 times and it is always tied to a stench coming from underneath the bed....eww.... We are going to have to work on that!
We are off to do observations in John's neighborhoods tomorrow morning. John has ordered business cards, and truck magnet. He said all sorts of people make business cards. Even moms have them! According to John, I am the research assistant, director of housekeeping and hospitality, entertainment, and travel logistics for the Lattimore family. I guess that is what I would put on my business card :)
To be continued...

Lessons learned
1. The dogs can still run really fast even if they are tired
2. Ralph's gas needs to be gotten under control -- pronto
Wildlife seen
1 alligator snapping turtle (John was not too thrilled about about that!)
